-58- <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CI~TY OF RAIVISEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station Number I, 15050 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councihnember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David-Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilrnember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney Williarn Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO oRDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular ineeting of the City Council to order at 7:05 p.m. and called <br />upon Councilmember Strommen to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler explained that Ramsey Firefighter Roger Peterson <br />and his wife Ten5 have a five-year-old daughter named Bailey who has been diagnosed with a <br />rare blood disease similar to leukemia. To date she has received over 30 blood transfusions. To <br />help Bailey, the Ramsey Fire Department will be holding a blood drive at Fire Station I on July <br />29th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested can call City Hall for an appointment at 427- <br />1410. Walk-ins will also be accepted. <br /> <br />Jason Obermaier, 5220 - 156th Lane NW, Ramsey, stated that they have had trouble since last fall <br />with dewatering that has occurred near their property from new development. Storm sewer <br />drains have been placed into a low area and it is flooding them out.
