I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CASE # ~ ALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS By: Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik Background: On January 25, 2000, the Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing regarding the allocation of 2000 CDBG funds in the amount of $57,134.00 and reallocation of 1998 CDBG funds in the amount of $63,988.00. Suburban Kinship City of Ramsey ADA Trail Retrofits Replacement of Playground Equipment at River's Bend Park Amendments to Ramsey's Zoning Chapter Anoka County Housing Rehabilitation New Trail Construction ACCAP Townhouse Project Landscaping $2,000.00 $4,094.00 $2,000.00 $2,OOO.OO $2,OOO.OO $3,163.00 $1,500.00 $1,000.00 $500.00 $1,000.00 $500.00 $9,500.00 $50,000.00 $35,000.00 Any amount Unknown $20,000.00+ Recommendation: Based on discussions at a City coUncil work session on Monday, February 7, 2000, City Staff recommends allocating 2000 funds for public service agencies, trail construction from the seniors apartment building to Solstice Park, and retrofitting existing trails to ADA standards. City Staff also recommends reallocating 1998 funds for amendments to the City's zoning regulations and map to implement the amended comprehensive plan and housing rehabilitation. The proposed resolution for allocating 2000 funds is enclosed. The City must must advertise a 30 day comment period on the proposed uses for the 1998 funds prior to Council taking action by resolution to reallocate those funds.
