I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Nell DeLong, 149'~ Lane, stated that he would like to see one-acre residential lots on the north
side of C.R. #116. He questioned if the existing swamp will be left alone.

Mayor Gamec replied that the Council has no intention of moving any wetlands.

Mr. DeLong replied that if the City lets homes be constructed in the area, it will be trouble
because there have been times when the water table has been very high in that area.

Mayor Gamec replied that all drainage issues would have to be addressed prior to construction.

Mr. DeLong stated that if the extensions are installed, anyone wanting to go north would end up
driving through his neighborhood and for that reason he is against the connection to C.R #116.
He stated that if it becomes a problem for residents to turn onto the county roads then, a stoplight
could be installed at 153~d on Ramsey or Armstrong Boulevard.

Mayor Garnet replied that the first lights proposed are at the intersection of C.R. #116.

Mr. DeLong replied that it would be more of an advantage to place the lights at 153*a.

City Engineer Jankowski replied that when all the area is developed, there will be a need for
traffic signals at C.R. #116.

Mr. DeLong stated that he does not want to see anymore bad industrial businesses in the area.
Mayor Gamec replied that the issue will be addressed in the near future.

Keith Hovelson, 7454 149th Avenue NW, Ramsey, inquired if the swamp area is DNR protected.
City Engineer Jankowski reviewed what is DNR protected.

Mr. Hovelson questioned how the land can be developed if it is wetland.

Mayor Gamec replied that the development would occur around the wetlands.

Mr. Hovelson inquired as to the definition of medium density.

Zoning Administrator Frolik replied six units per acre.

Terry Thatcher, 7950 - 149~' Lane NW, Ramsey, inquired as to how big a development will occur
in the area and what will keep the extension from turning into a speedway.

Mayor Gamec replied that the only decision being made is whether or not the residents want the
roads extended to C.R. #116 or not. The development will depend on the owner of the property.

City Council/February 22, 2000
