i
i
I
!
I

Michael Max, 16284 Uranium Street NW, Ramsey, stated that he is introducing a DNR
neighborhood wilds program for the area located by the new park along highway T.H. #47 and
the existing ditch that was dug by the County in the 1920's. His intentions are to get City staff
and DNR to make sure drainage works properly for the area, but keep the wildlife in tact. He
will then present the program to the neighbors.

Councihnember Connolly requested a brochure on the program.

Mayor Gamec noted that the Ramsey Boulevard and C.R. #116 site is still under consideration
by the School Board for the location of the new High School. The next School Board meeting
scheduled to discuss the location of the High School is scheduled for Thursday, February 24,
2000.

Councilmember Connolly inquired if the School Board ever gave the City any reason as to why
the other sites were not considered.

I
I

I
I
I
I
I

Mayor Gamec explained that all sites were reviewed by the School Board, but some of the sites
had no sewer and water available, had major traffic problems, were located in residential areas,
or there was not enough acreage.

Consensus of the Council was to have Staff request a written response from the School Board
explaining the reasons each of the sites were eliminated.

APPROVE AGENDA

City Administrator Norman requested that an update on the T.H. #47 project and commuter rail
station be placed under Mayor and Council Input.

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to approve the
agenda as amended.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers, Zimmerman, Connolly,
Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: None.

CONSENT AGENDA

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Connolly, to approve the
following items on the Consent Agenda as presented:

1) Approve Purchase of Rescue Truck Chassis to Replace Current Engine #2
2) Approve the following License Applications
Contractor

City Council/February 22, 2000
