,I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I 6.0 As previously discussed, the proposed Trunk Storm Sewer System will be connected to an existing 42-inch storm sewer system along Sunfish Lake Boulevard. As designed, the District discharges 18cfs to the 42-inch pipe during the 10-year event. ESTIMATED COSTS The estimated project costs presented herein reflect the construction, easement and overhead costs. Construction costs are estimated contract amounts for the actual construction. Easement costs include providing a 20-foot permanent drainage easement along the entire length of the Trunk Storm Sewer System. It was assumed that temporary construction easements would be provided at no cost. If easements cannot be obtained through negotiation, eminent domain will be required. The cost of condemnation is not included in the cost presented below, and would increase the necessary tax to finance the project. Overhead costs include, but are not limited to, engineering, construction staking and inspection, administrative service, legal, and contingency. Overhead costs for the project are estimated based on percentages of construction cost. Those percentages are estimated to be as follows: · · · · Engineering 8% Staking & Inspection 6% Bonding & Legal 1% City Staff Administration 5% Contingencies 5% The estimated cost of construction plus overhead and easements are shown below in Table 1. TABLE I ESTIMATED TOTAL PROJECT COST · Construction Cost $272,700 · Construction Overhead Cost (25%) $68,200 Estimated Construction Cost $340,900 · Easement Cost $50,200 Total Project Cost $391,100 In projecting the estimated costs of construction, data from projects constructed in the metropolitan area over the last several years and a working knowledge of be construction activity in the area were used.
