CANVAS CRAFT

7815 Riverdale Drive N.W. · Anoka, MN 55303 · (612) 421-2506

Sylvia Frolik
City of Ramsey
Ramsey, MN 55303

April 13, 2000

BY:.

Re: Expansion Application

As we discussed at our recent meeting, there are two issues that pose a
problem for our situation:

Curbing: In our operation we make covers for boats. We keep boats
in our yard. Placement of curb within this lot would subject boats in our
yard to damage. Since the lower unit of outboard motors hang down to
within inches of the ground..._All-b/oats must be backed up to the edge
of the lot where the curb would be placed.

Paving: I would agree to paving a portion of the boat yard with asphalt but I
do need an unpaved (crushed asphalt) surface to twist double and tripple axle
trailers into parking spaces. Such trailers cannot be twisted on hard surgaces
(asphalt or cement). The trailer tires peel to the side and off the rim with
damage to the wheels. Something we have experienced.

Several years ago we discussed these issues with the Mayor and the City Engineer
Steve, at our site. I thought then we had come to an understanding, but have
never heard anything.

Sincerely,
