The public hearing closed at 8:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at <br />8:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kociscak inquired about the curbing. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik explained the front customer parking area is curbed, <br />however, the boat storage yard in back is not curbed. When the original site plan was approved <br />the curb was waived because of possible damage to boat motors. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kociscak clarified the applicant was asking for a waiver from a requirement' the <br />City had already given approval to with the first permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Dempsey, to recommend that <br />City Council adopt findings of fact relating to the request for a conditional use permit <br />amendment from Canvas Craft with the following amendment: <br /> <br />The legal location to be corrected to state Lot 2, Block 3, not Lot 1, Block 3. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Dempsey, <br />Kociscak, and Wivoda. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Anderson. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Dempsey, to recommend that <br />City Council approve the request for a Conditional Use Permit amendment from Canvas Craft <br />based on the findings of fact, and adopt a resolution declaring the terms of same. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Acting Chairperson Nixt noted paragraph 7 states "The Community <br />Development Department shall have the right to inspect the premises for compliance and safety <br />purposes annually or at any time, upon reasonable request." He suggested language be added to <br />allow the City to make recommendations regarding reasonable remedial corrective measures to <br />be taken for non-compliance with the permit. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Dempsey, <br />Kociscak, and Wivoda. Voting No: None.' Absent: Chairperson Anderson. <br /> <br />Case//9: <br /> <br />Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Canvas Craft, Inc. <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Wald explained the City has received a request for site plan <br />review from Canvas Craft. The plan proposes to construct a manufacturing addition onto an <br />existing building. Canvas Craft is proposing a 2,520 square foot addition onto an existing <br />building in the Highway Business District.
