Original permit was granted on the premises that the structure would be a "garage"
or "storage" at 50 x 100 (5,000 sq. ft.). The Building Code classifies this a "U" (Utility
Building).

The proposal is to change this occupancy to a woodworking facility, which is an F1
occupancy. The building is constructed as a type VN (meaning no requirements for
protection of the wood super-structure). The Code section table 5-B allows 8,000 sq. ft.
of basic area. The building has sufficient distance to all property lines to allow expansion
per building code;

Seaion 306.5

Ventilation, Sanitation
15 cubic feet per minute of outside air per occupant
(to be determined by a mechanical contractor).

Section 2902.3

Separate facilities shall be provided for each sex
when employees exceed four.

Section 306.2.2

Roof framing to be protected by 1-hour assembly as
determined by a registered architect.

Section 904.2.5.1

Woodworking occupancies over 2,500 sq. ft. shall
be equipped with an automatic fire sprinkler system.

Section 904.3.1, Item 2

Over 100 sprinklers (heads) the system shall be
monitored electrically.

Because of change of use, plans for the structure shall-be prepared by a registered
architect.
