MEMORANDUM June 1, 2000 TO: City of Ramsey Planning Commission FROM: Ken Wetzel and Family I7150 Baugh Street N.W. Ramsey, Mn. 55303 Response to a Conditional Use Permit Request fram the Resident at 17l 51 Baugh Street N.W. To whom it may concern: I am unable to attend the meeting, but am hereby stating that I am'opposed to granting this request for having "two" farm animals located on this property. When 1 boUght my house in the late 1980's, this was not a pre-existing condition. When there is an easterlz wind now, I have the smell of manure throughout my house. To be honest, when this house wits built and I found out it was a horse "smd" farm, I was surprised that the City let this happen in a petting where homes are located. I did not say anything at that time because t wanted to be a "good? neighbor. Since that time the property has been sold and the new owner seems to "push the envelope" on everyttfing he does. Now it is starting to bother me. What is he doing requesting a "C.U.P." when he already has these items in place? What does he have in mind? Is that the way the City of Ramsey operates? I have many issues with this property, but this is the one that is on the table now. I do believe the surrounding area will someday be developed and you ~e opening yourself up to further conflicts. , Summarizing, I believe this is a setting that would be better suited for an area like Zimmerman, Princeton or Milaca. I also believe that the City should monitor this property more closely in the future. He is not a good neighbor and I have to make a stand in spite of the consequences.
