PC CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE ONE FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS <br />MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 23, 2000, Council gave authorization to staff to reopen the process to recruit and <br />hire one full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker. As required by the union <br />agreement, the position was posted internally for seven business days followed by an <br />external posting. Sixteen applications were received by the June 23a deadline. Ail of <br />these applicants were sent a supplemental application to complete further identifying their <br />skills, equipment proficiency, and salary requirements. Nine applicants returned their <br />supplemental application by the July 6~' deadline to continue in the selection process. <br />After reviewing and ranking the completed applications, Staff plans to set up interviews <br />for Tuesday, July 11t~.
