Motion by Councilmember Anderson and seconded by Councilmember Cormolly to authorize the hiring of Chandra Kreyer as a part-time Public Safety Aide contingent upon successful completion of background checks, physical exams and with a six-month probationary period and a starting wage orS11.92 per hour. Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Connolly, Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: None. Case/49: Frontage Road Parallel to Highway #10 Councilmember Zimmerman stated this is in response to an inquiry from former Councilmember A1 Pearson who asked about the fi'ontage road parallel to Highway #10 on the Husby property. He noted Councilmember Cormolly did the research but the City Attorney needs to review the material. Councilmember Connolly stated the information has to do with an agreement that the City of Ramsey had. She noted it concerned the frontage road and 20 acres of commercial property. Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to direct the City Attorney to research the matter and report back to the Council. Motion carried. Case #10: Ratification of County Road//83 Improvement Project City Administrator James Norman explained the topic of the proposed improvement for County Road #83 was discussed during the Public Works meeting of April 18, 2000. Drainage for the southerly portion of the project was discussed by the Committee and staff was directed to contact the City Attorney's office to determine if an easement would be necessary for storm drainage from County Road #83 into a wetland prior to the City authorizing the improvement project. The City Engineer's Department has since notified the City that they have altered the storm drainage runoff and now propose to run the storm drainage directly south to a holding pond currently maintained by the County. The storm drainage will be entirely maintained within the County easement. The project now meets all of the conditions set forth by the City and it is appropriate for the City to authorize the County Road #83 improvement project to proceed. Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Connolly to ratify the Public Works Committee discussion and to authorize the City Engineer to sign off on the title sheet for the County Road #83 improvement project.
