Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a Work Session on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, in the <br />Lake Itasca Room at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br />Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jeff Wise <br />City Administrator Kurds Ulrich <br />Deputy City Administrator /Comm. Dev. Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />Associate Planner Tim Gladhill <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Elwyn Tinklenberg, The Tinklenberg Group <br />Jodi Ruehle, The Tinklenberg Group <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Ramsey called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:34 p.m. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Update on the Federal Reauthorization Bill — The Tinklenberg Group <br />Elwyn Tinklenberg of The Tinklenberg Group presented an update on Transportation <br />Reauthorization. He talked about an appropriation request of 1.4 million dollars and a <br />reauthorization of 4 million dollars for a total of $5.4 million. He stated the House does not do it <br />but it is on both Senate lists. The list was pared drastically and we could not keep it on the list. <br />Senator Klobuchar had 115 projects on the list — seven were approved — one approved was the <br />extension to St. Cloud. She asked for $25 million — got 1.5 million — so it was a big reduction <br />He stated that some will be shifted into reauthorization but he did not know when that would <br />take place — maybe after November 2. The House and Senate would take up the reauthorization <br />bill because of the impact it would have on the jobs creation.
