Councilmember Wise introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />and the following voted against the same <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />and the following were absent: <br />None <br />RESOLUTION #11 -01 -010 <br />RESOLUTION FORMALLY TERMINATING SISTER -CITY RELATIONSHIP WITH <br />LOUDI, CHINA <br />WHEREAS, In 2004, the Ramsey City Council and staff began discussing a Sister -City <br />relationship with Loudi, China; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2005, the then Ramsey City Council formally authorized entering into a <br />Sister -City relationship with the City of Loudi, China; and <br />WHEREAS, since 2006, the City of Ramsey has not been active in promoting or <br />continuing the Sister -City relationship with the City of Loudi, China; and <br />WHEREAS, the current Ramsey City Council does not feel there is a benefit in <br />continuing this Sister -City relationship. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Sister -City relationship between the City of Ramsey and the City of Loudi, <br />China is hereby formally terminated. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Backous, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 1 1 day of January, 2011. <br />
