Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # Consider a Resolution to Appoint a Member to the Economic Development Authority or to Continue the Current Recruitment WHEREAS, in November 2010, staff began the annual recruitment and selection process to fill seats on the city's boards and commissions, and WHEREAS, On March 1, 2011, the City Council conducted board and commission interviews, and WHEREAS, on March 8, 2011 all appointments to the boards and commissions were made by the City Council with the exception of the EDA appointment due to a lack of consensus, and WHEREAS, on March 22, 2011 the City Council motioned to either: make an appointment to the EDA from the group previously interviewed on March 1, 2011, to a term ending March 31, 2017 or to direct staff to continue the current recruitment specific to the EDA. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: That the City Council of the City of Ramsey motion to either: 1. Make an appointment to the EDA from the group previously interviewed on March 1, 2011, to a term ending March 31, 2017, or to 2. Direct staff to continue the current recruitment specific to the EDA. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 22nd day of March 2011.
