CouncilmemberJeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10 -10 -229 <br />CONSIDER A RESOLUTION ELIMINATING THE <br />ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER POSITION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is faced with substantial budget constraints; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to meet these constraints, staff has found it necessary to <br />recommend that the Assistant City Engineer position be eliminated and to lay off Mr. Steve <br />Jankowski, which returns approximately $100,449 back into the budget; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Steve Jankowski, the City's Assistant City Engineer, last day of <br />employment with the City will be December 17, 1010; and <br />WHEREAS, applicable severance payments will be paid from the Public Works <br />Department's Liability Fund and any unemployment benefits will be paid from the Insurance <br />Fund. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee <br />to do the following: <br />1) Eliminate the Assistant City Engineer position and lay off Mr. Steve Jankowski effective <br />December 17, 2010. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
