Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />WHEREAS, the City's former Economic Development Coordinator resigned in March <br />2010; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 9, 2010 the City Council authorized staff to reclassify the <br />Economic Development Coordinator position to Economic Development / Marketing Manager <br />and begin the recruitment process to fill the position; and <br />WHEREAS, a recruitment process was conducted and Mr. Aaron Backman has been <br />selected as the best candidate for the position; and <br />checks. <br />RESOLUTION #10 -10 -231 <br />AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE <br />AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT /MARKETING MANAGER <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Backman has successfully completed the required pre - employment <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following <br />Hire Mr. Aaron Backman as the City's new Economic Development/Marketing Manager, <br />effective on or near November 1, 2010 at an hourly wage of $34.78 and give credit for 5 <br />days of vacation time. All personnel polices will apply normally. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Wise, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />Councilmember Look <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
