The area east of Sunfish Lake Boulevard to Thurston Avenue <br />will be studied jointly with the City of Anoka. <br /> <br />The primary use of this study will be policy direction for development along the corridor <br />and grant application with MnDOT. Opportunities for funding might be more available <br />with a plan in place to help provide the safe, timely and efficient movement that MnDOT <br />desires long Highway #I0. Because the corridor is a high priority with MnDOT, they <br />have moved up the date of a formal traffic management study to 2002, which is. a <br />precursor to change and funding. <br /> <br />The study should show the businesses the benefits of access management and the <br />consequences of not having access management. <br /> <br />The plan Mr. Paige and Mr. Schreib showed included a combination of front and rear <br />frontage road system, a six-foot landscaping zone with continuous planting, two 15-foot <br />traffic lanes, a six-foot sidewalk and a different scale of lighting to add character and <br />continuity to the corridor. <br /> <br />Mr. Riley asked what the next step in the corridor study is. Mr. Paige and Mr. Schrieb <br /> <br />vis~%n and guiding principles, access and implementation of the policy.
