-30- areas along the corridor. The area east of Sunfish Lake Boulevard to Thurston Avenue will be studied jointly with the City of Anoka. The primary use of this study will be policy direction for development along the corridor and grant application with MnDOT. Opportunities for funding might be more available with a plan in place to help provide the safe, timely and efficient movement that MnDOT desires long Highway #I0. Because the corridor is a high priority with MnDOT, they have moved up the date of a formal traffic management study to 2002, which is. a precursor to change and funding. The study should show the businesses the benefits of access management and the consequences of not having access management. The plan Mr. Paige and Mr. Schreib showed included a combination of front and rear frontage road system, a six-foot landscaping zone with continuous planting, two 15-foot traffic lanes, a six-foot sidewalk and a different scale of lighting to add character and continuity to the corridor. Mr. Riley asked what the next step in the corridor study is. Mr. Paige and Mr. Schrieb vis~%n and guiding principles, access and implementation of the policy.
