In Augztst, a suggestion was made to research the possibility of pur~h~ki~;![&:.snack <br />vending machine. The proposed snack machine would be installed ne~[;;fi4e culJr"&'~i:-'~goda <br />machines. One of the main reasons stated for the purchase included th~ to have <br />secure means of selling and storing snacks because there has been occasions'~kglb~re <br />access to City Hall of-flees have resulted in the theft of both snacking- mon¢ii:;'rwo of those:'::,;,i]i!['7,;-. <br />instances ocdurred this summer. Another stated reason was that".:~:fits:~de as the result of the <br />'sale of these snacks could be used to fund employee acta'~iti:~s, such:~'% employee holiday <br />lunches. A letter was sent to the owners of Diamond's requesting <br /> the first year'S)Payment plns interest and they responded that the business would not survive if <br /> they have tq.~e a large payment to the City. Staff inquired into the possibility of including the <br />Zbcharges on, ~eir property taxes, but were informed that that was not a possibility, because the <br /> charg¢~?,ere part of development of the property. If the business were to file bankruptcy, the <br /> City ~o,Uid receive nothing.
