MARY ANNE FLESNER
8130 153 Lane NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

Telephone 763-42%3510

October 1,2000

City of Ramsey Planning Comnfission:

RECEIVED[
iByiOT '0 2 21]l]O ...J

My husband, Leon, and myself object to Amy Ross being given a Conditional Use Permit
for a private dog kennel.

1My husband and I have lived in our home at 153 Lane N'W since April 1, 1973. We own
one of the four original homes built in the Whispering Pines addition. We were here
before the city was a city.

June 26, 2000 and Sept. 5, 2000 we received notice from Alex Blackburn stating that we
are in violation of a zoning ordinance 20-32-25-14-0002. lvly husband isan over the road
truckdriver since we moved into our home and owns his own cab wttiCh we have always
kept parked in our yard.

We have always had it our policy to "Live and Let Live". We don't bother anyone and we
expect that no one will bother us. Our truck is always in good condition, not a junker, is
always clean and it is quieter than most of the other vehicles that tear down our streets.
Ali we do is park the truck here. We don't bring extra traffic, people, and noise into the
neighborhood. We have had many neighbors over the years and none have ever
complained about our truck being parked in our yard.

if' the Whispering Pines area is zoned residential and we are not supposed to park our
conm~ercial vehicle in our yard, then I do not feel that it is fight for anyone else to be
running a business from their home either. You better start today closing up the in home
child care centers. The beauticians, the piano teachers, and the mechanics who operate a
business in their home should also be shut down. You better start today to eliminate all
the other commercial vehicles that are parked by other peoples homes: the landscapers,
the gravel hawlers, etc. You also should drive through our neighborhood and make notes
to contact people about cleaning up their junky, unusable vehicles, thek lean twos and
several extra sheds. Their is one home that has this monstrous boat plus three others
sitting in their yard which is an eye sore.

Like I said earlier, my husband and I HAD THE POLICY: "Live and Let Live"; but not
any more. If all these other business are allowed to continue and Ad-ny Ross is allowed to
open a new business, then we should be Ieft to park' our tru/:k in our own back yard.

Si~n,,qerely,

Mary Anne Flesner

-243-
