Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #00-11- RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #99-51, 153m~ AVENUE N.W./155TM AVENUE N.W. EXTENSION WHEREAS, on August 8, 2000, City Council adopted Resolution #00-08-191 approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #99-51, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: Bidder Amount of Bid Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. Dresel Contracting, Inc. Hardrives, Inc. W. B. Miller Richard Knutson, Inc. S. R. Weidema $716,399.48 $733,643.38 $757,419.65 $816,499.90 $822,636.25 $876,998.79 Engineers Estimate .$807,000.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Forest Lake Contracting is the lowest responsible' bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Forest Lake Contracting in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #99-51 in the amount of $716,399.48. 2)¸ That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained.until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: -275-
