The North Suburban Home Improvement Fair in February of 2000
was a great success. It is estimated that over 600 north suburban residents attended the
event.

For the 2000 event, each City donated $1,250 dollars to .cover the start up fees which
included booth rental, newspaper ads, rental signs, supplies, Armory rental, flyers,
handouts, and so forth. After all of the expenses were paid each City received a refund of
$1,190.98 dollars for a total contribution of $59.02 towards the successfizl 2000 Home
Improvement Fair.

Observations:

Staft members from the cities of Dayton, Champlin, Andover, Anoka, and Coon Rapids
are meeting once again to host the third annual Home Improvement Fair on Saturday,
March 10, 2001.

The money being requested from each City for the 2001 event is $1,000 dollars. Again
this money will cover start up fees. Each City will be refunded the necessary amount
after all of the bills have been paid.

It is anticipated that the March 2001 show will produce enough income to enable each
city to be refunded a generous amount after all the applicable bills have been paid. It :s
the hope of the Committee that the fair will pay for itself within the ne,ct few years.

The Home Improvement Fair Committee has already received quite a few responses from
vendors wanting to participate in the 2001 Fair.
