Development Director Sylvia.Frolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. and called <br />upon Councihnember Zimmerman to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION BY YOUTH FIRST <br /> <br />Stan Peichel, Principal of Ramsey Elementary School, reviewed the Youth First program and <br />explained that with the expansion of the group's vision, it was necessary to hire a part time <br />coordinator who is Jan Pomeroy, who is also present at the meeting. They requested that the <br />City of Ramsey commit to an annual line item budget of $5,000 to help support the Youth First <br />organization. By receiving this ammal support the organization can remain viable and the <br />contribution by the City is a way of showing that they value youth in the cornmunity. He <br />explained that the organization is in the process of publishing framed posters that will be posted <br />in the community that addresses student responsibilities. The posters will be posted in the <br />schools as well as at local businesses. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that.the Council is in the process of reviewing budget i_tems and they can <br />discuss the issue at that time and get back to them with an answer. <br /> <br />Mr. Peichel encouraged anyone in the community to attend a Youth First meeting <br /> <br />City Council/November 28, 2000 <br /> Page 3 of 21 <br /> <br />¸O7 <br /> <br /> <br />
