Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councihnember Susan E. Anderson Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Klm Moore-Sykes Police Chief David Gustafson Councihnember Terry Hendfiksen Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 5:50 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT None. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Receive Information on Hiring of Patrol Officer Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes stated that on October 10, 2000, Council authorized hiring one of the five finalists for the patrol officer position and requested staff bring the name of the newly hiring officer to the next meeting. Final interviews were held on October 11, 2000, and based on the panel's recommendation, Timothy Frankfurth was offered a position of patrol officer with the City of Ramsey. Mr. Frankfurth's starting salary is $33,688 which is that starting patrol officer salary for 2000. The offer was made contingent on successful completion of background checks, psychological examination and an employment physical. The new officer will serve a one-year probationary period. Case #2: Authorize Hiring of Office Supervisor Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes stated that on September 13, 2000, Council authorized the creation of a new Office Supervisor position in the Police Department and Personnel Committee/October 24, 2000 Page 1 of 2 -27-
