<br />Councilmember Anderson stated that the other alternative would be that the Council stand firm <br />and pay for everything themselves, which she doesn't think the tax payers would be happy with. <br /> <br />Councilmember Connolly stated that she would like more information before a decision is made. <br /> <br />I, <br />1 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Connolly, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to table the <br />item. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Connolly, Zimmerman, <br />Anderson, and Hendriksen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recessed the regular City Council meeting at 9:54 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 9:55 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #11: <br /> <br />Authorization to Engage Consulting Services for Local Information Services <br />Support <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the City Council has been made aware of the need for <br />local information services support in the past. The City Administrator prepared a case for the <br />September 28, 1999 Council meeting, recommending InfoTech of Arden Hills to perform the <br />consulting services for local information services support. The City Council tabled the action <br />and directed Councilmember Hendriksen to be involved in the process. A second vendor that <br />would provide the same service submitted a proposal for consideration and Staff, along with <br />Councilmember Hendriksen, now recommends the City contract with NetMark, Inc. of Brooklyn <br />Park to provide the consulting services for local information services support. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen noted that Mayor Gamec recessed the meeting to inquire if he had <br />any connection with the NetMark, Inc., and his response was no. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired ifit was customary to receive two quotes. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that the City did receive two quotes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that the rates were similar. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that the City is not required to receIve quotes for a <br />consultant. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen explained that the contract from InfoTech obligated the City to a <br />block time of 500 hours at a higher rate, and would be charged from the time the technician was <br />dispatched until they were received back at the next location.
