<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 9, 1999, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Planning Consultant Jon Scazlo <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:05 p.m. and called <br />upon Councilmember Anderson to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Jamie Sharp, 7346 1491h Avenue, Ramsey, asked about the lack of staff in the Planning <br />Department. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the Department is currently short staffed due to recent resignations <br />and one staff member on medical leave. He noted that the City has begun the application process <br />to fill the vacant positions. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharp stated that he has a problem relating to code enforcement with his neighbor. He <br />explained that there are several cars without current registration and also uncovered garbage all <br />over the property. He questioned how the City is going to handle the situation with the lack of <br />staff. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the City is going through a reorganization process for the Planning <br />Department, but noted they are not intending to neglect the situation. He explained that he will <br />be discussing the issue with the City Attorney. <br /> <br />City Council/November 9,1999 <br />Page 2 of 16 <br />
