Development Secretary Tara Olson be retained as a regular, full-time employee, effective <br />September 1999. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to adopt <br />Resolution #00-01-027 formally ending the probationary period for Community Development <br />Secretary Tara Olson and granting her the status of regular, full-time employee, effective <br />September 15, 1999. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Pro tem Zimmerman,-E:ouncilmembers Anderson, <br />Hendriksen, and Connolly. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />2) Consider Authorization of Hiring New Positions in Personnel Department <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson noted the Personnel Committee discussed the finalists for the position <br />of Assistant City Administrator and Human Resources Manager and recommends the City <br />Administrator continue negotiations to provide a job offer to Kim Moore-Sykes and Rhonda M. <br />Heryla. <br /> .... <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Connolly, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to authorize the <br />City Administrator to make a job offer to Kim Moore-Sykes to serve in the position of Assistant <br />City Administrator at the posted annual salary of $57,268, contingent upon physical examination <br />and implementation of a one-year probationary period. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Pro tem Zimmerman, Councilmembers Connolly, <br />Hendriksen, and Anderson. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Connolly, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to authorize the <br />City Administrator to make a job offer to Rhonda M. Heryla to fill the newly created position of <br />Human Resources Manager at a beginning pay of approximately $43,800 and not to exceed <br />$45,000 contingent upon physical examination and implementation of a one-year probationary <br />period, with the understanding that if the salary range is not negotiated within this range, the City <br />Administrator will need to conduct a telephone poll of the Council for further authorization. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Pro tem Zimmerman, Councilmembers Connolly, <br />Hendriksen, and Anderson. Voting No: None. Absent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman noted personnel staff is not on board now and this new position <br />requires a new range. He explained that Labor Relations, Inc. was used a year ago and <br />recommended they be used again to help incorporate this new position into the City's steps. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson asked if it is worthwhile to do that now or after the other new <br />positions are determined. <br /> <br />City Council/January 25, 2000 <br /> Page 31 of 35 <br /> <br /> <br />
