This site has been purposed as a community park by the Park and Recreation Commission for more than a decade. Earlier this year, the City applied to the State of Minnesota for grant monies to aid in the first phase of development for Elmcrest Park. The $100,000 will be matched with $262,000 of "City" money for construction of an access road, grading, well and irrigation for soccer/football fields. This work is expected to begin in 2001. The purpose of this letter is to invite your participation in the park development. As the City continues to refine the Concept Plan for Elmcrest. Park, your comments will be helpful to ensure that this park best reflects the needs for the community and neighborhoods around it. On Thursday, December 14, 2000 at 6:30 p.m. the Park and Recreation Commission will be conducting an open house at Ramsey Municipal Center to provide information and receive comment on EImcrest Park.
