9.15.08 <br /> <br />9.15.09 <br /> <br />All towers must be designed so that the tower site and setbacks will contain <br />guyed wires, debris, and the tower in the event of a collapse, except towers <br />ofmonopole design. <br /> <br />Tower Setbacks. Towers shall conform with each of the following requirements: <br /> <br />No part of any communication antenna or tower, equipment, guyed wires, or <br />braces shall at any time extend across or over any part of the public right-of- <br />way, public street, highway, sidewalk, or recreation trail. <br /> <br />Towers shall meet the setbacks of the underlying zoning district with the <br />exception of industrihl zoning districts, where towers may encroach into the <br />side or rear setback area, provided that the side or rear property line abuts <br />another non-residential zoned property and the tower does not encroach <br />upon any easements. <br /> <br />Towers shall not be located between a principal structure and a public street, <br />with the following exceptions: <br /> <br />1. In industrial zoning districts, towers may be placed within a side yard <br /> abutting an internal industrial street. <br /> <br />On sites adjacent to public streets on all sides, towers may be placed <br />within a side yard abutting a local street. <br /> <br />do <br /> <br />A lesser setback distance may be used if a qualified and licensed <br />professional engineer specifies in writing that the collapse of the proposed <br />tower will occur within a lesser distance. <br /> <br />The setback shall be measured between the base of the tower located nearest <br />the property line and the actual property line. <br /> <br />A tower's setback may be reduced or its location in relation to a public <br />street varied, at the sole discretion of the City Council, to allow the <br />integration ora tower into an existing or proposed structure such as a church <br />steeple, light standard, power line support device, or similar structure. <br /> <br />Tower Height <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />In residential districts, the height of a communication tower shall not exceed <br />seventy-five (75) feet. In commercial districts, the height Of a <br />communication tower shall not exceed one hundred sixty-five (165) feet. In <br />industrial districts, the height of a communication tower shall not exceed <br />one hundred seventy-five (175) feet.
