Motion by Councilmember Anderson and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to adopt <br />Resolution #04-00-109 Authorizing the Hiring of Sean Sullivan to Finance TIF Specialist. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, Connolly, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />2) Authorize Hiring of Half Time Secretary <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla stated the Personnel Committee met earlier tonight and <br />recommended the Council authorize removing Pamela Miller from her first probationary period <br />and to authorize the hiring of Ms. Miller to fill the other half-time secretary position effective <br />April 26, 2000, contingent upon successful completion of a second six month probationary <br />period. With the two half time positions combined, her annual salary would be $25,207. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson and. seconded by Councilmember Connolly to adopt <br />Resolution #00-04-110 Ending the Probationary Period for Part-Time Secretary Pamela Miller. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Garnet, Councilmemb?rs Anderson, Connolly, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson and seconded by Councilmember Connolly to adopt <br />Resolution #00-04-111 Authorizing the Hiring of Pamela Miller to Half-Time Secretary (Making <br />her a Full Time Secretary). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />3) Authorize Hiring of an Engineer <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla explained that following Council authorization on January <br />t 1, 2000, staff began the process to hire an Engineer. The position was advertised and six <br />applications were received. Five of the six applicants were interviewed on April 20, 2000. The <br />interview panel consisted of the Director of Public Works, City Engineer, Andover City <br />Engineer, Dave Hutton from WSB & Associates, and Ms. Heryla herself. Ms. Heryla stated the <br />Personnel Committee met earlier tonight and recommended the hiring of Brian Olson, a current <br />engineer with the City of New Brighton, contingent upon successful completion of background <br />investigations of driving record and criminal history, reference checks, and a physical <br />examination, subject to a six month probationary period, at an annual salary of $57,268. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to authorize <br />the Hiring of Brian Olson as Engineer. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
