REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR <br />FARM ANIMALS ON A PARCEL: <br /> CASE OF JEFFREY SIGLER <br /> By: Megan Wald, Community Development Assistant <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In February, the City received a complaint on the property located at 17151 Baugh Street from a <br />neighboring property owner. The complaint was in regard to obnoxious odors generated by the <br />cows and horses being maintained on lhe property. Also, the complainant stated that the <br />homeowner was piling manure in the ditch of County Road #83 (Armstrong Blvd.). <br /> <br />Staff conducted an inspection on March 16, 2000 and could not verify any bad odors or manure <br />being disposed of in the ditch. However, Staff dido,find at this time that Mr. Sigler was <br />maintaining three (3) cows on the property, absent of the required conditional use permit. <br /> ./ <br /> <br />On May 16, 2000, the City received an application from Jeffrey Sigler requesting a conditional <br />use permit to maintain three (3) cows on his property. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />d) <br />c) <br />d) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Site plan <br />Site Pictures <br />Letter from Ken Wetzel <br />Proposed findings of fact <br />Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />State law requires notification of a public hearing to properties within 350 feet of the boundaries <br />of the subject property. Notices were sent out to parcels within 600 feet of the subject property. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The subject property is zoned R-I(R) Single Family Rural Residential. The surrounding <br />properties are also zoned R-I(R) Single Family Rurual Residential. The subject property is <br />approximately ten (10) acres in size. <br /> <br /> <br />
