· SUMMARY OF ALTERNATIVES <br /> <br />Summary of Alternative <br /> <br />Description <br /> <br />Alternative 1 consists of constructing a trunk storm sewer system along the north side of <br />the proposed drainage district as shown in Figure 1, The existing pond in Business <br />Park 95 will be used for water quality. The control structure shown would consist of a <br />manhole and weir with the given elevations, Ail Iow flows would be conveyed to the <br />existing pond for water.' quality treatment, Flows which overtop the weir will be <br />conveyed to an existing storm sewer system along Sunfish Lake Boulevard. The total <br />cost of this alternative is $391,050, <br /> <br />Advantages. <br /> <br />Lowest cost alternative .... <br />Utilizes the existing capacity of the Sunfish Lake Blvd. storm sewer <br />Provides the best flood protection of three "non-pond" alternatives <br /> <br />Disadvantaaes <br /> <br />Water could potentially remain in the pipe to elevation 855.2, which is <br />higher than the pipe inverts. However, even if the pipe would freeze to <br />elevation 855.2, more than half the pipe would remain open, It is unlikely <br />that the pipe would freeze past the 54" RCP since the pipe is 7± feet deep. <br /> <br />Summary of Alternative 2 <br /> <br />, De.s.cription <br /> <br />Alternative 2 consists of constructing a trunk storm sewer system along the north side of <br />the proposed drainage district as shown in Figure 2. This alternative includes a <br />proposed storm water pond on the Hunter Investment property. The control structure <br />shown will operate as discussed in Alternative 1.
