PW CASE <br /> <br />MISSISSIPPI RIVER CROSSING PREFERENCE <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the City Council meeting of November 23, 1999, County Commissioner Dennis Berg and <br />County Engineer, Jon Olson, appeared before the City Council to discuss various public works <br />issues. One of the items discussed involved the proposed crossing of the Mississippi River. <br />County Engineer Olson stated that the reason the current Anoka County 2015 Transportation <br />Plan included the proposed crossing of the Mississippi River at the Mississippi West Regional <br />Park area is because it has been done at the request at the City of Ramsey. It was further noted <br />that if the City of Ramsey desired to change the location of the proposed Mississippi River <br />bridge crossing, then it would be appropriate to provide documentation of the proposed river <br />crossing location. <br /> <br />Staff has prepared a resolution asserting a preference for a proposed Mississippi River crossing, <br />which would be shown as at a location southwest of County Road #83.
