t Metropolitan Council <br />• Map transit facilities <br />April 2008 <br />In its planning for expansion of the transit system, the Metropolitan <br />Council identifies the locations of existing and future facilities in the <br />Transportation Po /icy Plan. Facilities include shelters, transit stations <br />and park- and -ride lots, as well as support facilities such as bus <br />garages and layover facilities. <br />To be consistent with the Transportation Po /icy Plan, the land use <br />map and transportation related maps in the comprehensive plan <br />must identify the location of: <br />• Existing park- and -ride facilities in the municipality. Figure 2 -1 <br />of the Transportation Policy Plan shows existing and <br />programmed park- and -ride facilities funded and located <br />through 2008. <br />• Potential park- and -ride facility sites identified in Figures 5 -1 <br />through 5 -4 of the Park and Ride Facility Site Location Plan. <br />• Existing and planned passenger facilities such as transit <br />centers and stations identified in Figure 4 -5 and in the <br />corresponding text in the 2030 Transportation Policy Plan. <br />• Transit support facilities such as maintenance facilities and <br />garages identified in Figure 4 -6 of the Transportation Policy <br />Plan. <br />Local Planning Handbook 1 Section 4.
