TRUNK HIGHWAY # 47 BERMING <br />By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />P.W. CASE #: <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Now that the curb for the median on the southbound lane has been placed and the rise in <br />the grade of the highway.has become more apparent to the public, staffhas received an <br />increase in calls regarding the berm along the eastern boundary of Trunk Highway #47. <br />The purpose of this case is to review the direction that City Council authorized in June. <br />You may recall that at that time the Council authorized the expenditure of $5,000 for <br />addition fill, grade, topsoil and seeding the maximized height of the berm. I am attaching <br />the project plan sheets for the section of the highway south of 149th Avenue N.W. which <br />illustrates the following: <br /> <br />(a) The rise of the highway grade from the old road elevation. <br />(b) The height of the existing berm above the old road grade. <br />(c) The rise of elevation of the berm. <br />(d) The effective height of the new berm over the new road. <br /> <br />I am also attaching a copy of the landscaping plan for this area as well. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br />None required. <br /> <br />Review by: <br /> <br />Public Works Director <br />Public Work Supervisor <br />Parks & Utilities Supervisor <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />P.W. 08/14/00 <br /> <br />]5 <br /> <br /> <br />
