CASE # 4 <br /> <br />WAIVER OF FEES FOR SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT <br />By: Cindy Sherman, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey in conjunction with the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority are in the process of constructing a senior housing project. Early in the discussions of <br />the project it was discussed that City fees for the project would be waived. No official action <br />was taken to waive the fees during the site plan process. <br /> <br />Observations: The development of the project is publicly financed and it makes sense that we <br />would not charge our fees on a project that we are financing. The fees to be waived include the <br />permit fee, water area charge (WAC), and the sewer area charge (SAC). The fees we will not <br />waive include: the plan check fee, state surcharge fee, and metropolitan sewer charge because we <br />have to pay the fees to other agencies and they were included as a proj eot cost. The total fees for <br />the project are $90,426 and we are proposing to waive $53,921 of the total. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff recommends that the City Council waive the following fees for the <br />Senior Housing project: Permit fee, $4961; City WAC, $43,200; City.
