Certainly this is a good opportunity to observe the intersection under icy
conditions. In addition, speed is again discussed as an issue associated with a request for a stop
sign. It is recommended that a speed study in the vicinity of this intersection be conducted. This
study must be performed under good pavement conditions. It is staff's recommendation to
conduct the necessary speed studies before making a recommendation on the posting of the
requested sign.

Committee Action:

Direct staff to conduct necessary iutersection and s. peed studies and notify the petitioner of the
same.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
City Engineer
Director of Public Works
Police Chief
Public Works Supervisor

PW: 01/19/99

~shared/pwcommit/1999/january/stopsign
