The S.O.Q.'s received by the City would be evaluated by the Park Commission at their March 11, 1999 meeting, with a recommendation to City Council immediately thereafter. The fundraising would begin using, in part, the vendor's sample methods, flow chart and play equipment model. The desired installation day(s) with the volunteers would be late summer. Should organizations or donations be an obstacle, one of three things might occur; the installing could be deferred until spring of 2000, the project could be erected by the vendor (without volunteers), or the scope of the project could be reduced to the monies available. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Finance Committee recommend City Council approval of the Community-Built playground and authorize staff to request a statement of qualifications of vendors for the Park and Recreation Commission and Council approval.
