Personnel Committee <br />Date: 03/22/2011 <br />By: Colleen Lasher <br />Administrative Services <br />Item #: 4. 1. <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Consider a Resolution to Authorize a Paid -on -call Firefighter Recruitment <br />Background: <br />In an effort to bring the City to its full complement of firefighters, staff wishes to begin a recruitment process to <br />hire additional paid -on -call firefighters. If approved, a firefighter orientation will held in April 2011 followed by <br />an application period, review of applications, interviews, physical agility tests, background checks, <br />medical appointments and final authorization to hire. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends authorization of resolution # 11-04-XXX, which upon City Council approval, will allow staff to <br />begin a firefighter recruitment. <br />Funding Source: <br />Paid -on -call positions are approved as part of the 2011 General Fund Budget.
