Following tonight's <br />public hearing there is a City Charter required 60 day waiting period to allow for property owners to determine <br />whether they would like to counter -petition any proposed improvements with the SMP. Once that time has passed <br />staff will come back before the Council to request the project be ordered and seek authorization to solicit bids. <br />It is anticipated that the project will be bid in late June, and a contract awarded in mid -July. Construction activities <br />will commence thereafter, with a majority of the work taking place in August. Following project completion in <br />mid -September a final accounting will be conducted on actual project costs and an assessment hearing will be <br />scheduled for early October. <br />There is 60 day waiting period before the City Council can authorize the preparation of design and order the <br />improvement. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council conduct the public hearing and provide feedback on any requested <br />revisions to the project feasibility study to assist in completing final design. <br />Funding Source: <br />The entire 2011 SMP is estimated to cost approximately $578,000.
