Board Member Brauer introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-08-192 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0653 RELATING TO A REQUEST <br />FOR A VARIANCE TO ACCESSORY BUILDING HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Robert and Martina Wallace, hereinafter referred to as "Applicants," have <br />properly applied for a variance from Section 9.11.02 and 9.20.11 of the Ramsey City Code to <br />construct an accessory structure in excess of sixteen (16) feet in height on the property generally <br />known as 5941 143rd Circle NW and legally described as follows: <br /> <br />Lot 10, Block 1, Chestnut Hill, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />(Subject Property) <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the Board of Adjustment conducted a public heating pursuant to Section 9.03.05 of the <br />Ramsey City Code on August 7, 2003, and that said public heating was properly advertised, <br />and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated as a part of these findings <br />by reference. <br /> <br />2. That the Subject Property is zoned R-1 Single Family Residential, is located inside the 2020 <br /> Metropolitan Urban Service Area, and is approximately 0.37 acres in size. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property is surrounded by properties zoned R-1 Single Family Residential. <br /> <br />That Section 9.11.02 of the Ramsey City Code restricts the height of accessory structures on <br />properties less than two and a half acres (2.5) in size to sixteen (16) feet (measured at the <br />mean gable height). <br /> <br />5. That there is an existing garage on the Subject Property totaling 746 square feet. <br /> <br />6. That the proposed structure will be 742 square feet in size (resulting in a total of 1,488 square <br /> feet of accessory structures on the property). <br /> <br />7. That the allotted square footage for accessory structures for the Subject Property is 1,488. <br /> <br />8. That the Applicants are proposing to construct an accessory structure with a mean gable <br /> height of sixteen and a half (16.5) feet to allow for indoor storage of a motor home. <br /> <br />That the Applicants have stated that the detached accessory building will not have a paved <br />access to Potassium St NW as City Code currently restricts parcels in the 2020 MUSA to one <br />(1) driveway and the Subject Property has an existing access on 143rd Circle. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />That in accordance with City Code, the proposed building will be constructed of materials <br />similar to that of the home including maintenance free vinyl siding and shingles matching <br />those of the home. <br /> <br /> <br />
