Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #03-06-165 <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE INITIATION OF AN ALTERNATIVE URBAN <br />AREAWIDE REVIEW (AUAR) ENVRIONMENTAL REVIEW FOR HIGHWAY 10 <br />CORRIDOR WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey, hereinafter referred to as "City", has an interest on how <br />to best preserve the State Hwy. 10 corridor through the City of Ramsey for future improvement; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), in conjunction <br />with the City and other local and county governmental units, have conducted an Inter-Regional <br />Corridor (IRC) study for State Hwy. 10 that details the needs of the corridor for the next 20 plus <br />years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hwy. 10 IRC study identified several alternatives for Hwy. 10 to be <br />improved, including realignment of the Hwy. 10 corridor; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City, based on the information contained in the HWY. 10 IRC study, <br />wants to keep all of the options presented in the study as viable options; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, some of the tools for the City to keep the options presented in the HWY. 10 <br />IRC study viable are official mapping, rezoning, and land use/policy planning; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, for purposes of ensuring a proper and complete review of the above <br />mentioned tools, the City desires to utilize the Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) as <br />prescribed in Chapter 4410.3600 of the Minnesota Rules to study the HWY. 10 corridor. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the City hereby orders that an AUAR as regulated by Chapter 4410.3610 of Minnesota <br />Rules be conducted in relation to the Highway 10 corridor in an area that is designated on <br />Exhibit 1. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br /> <br />
