Request for Proposal <br />CONCI PT PLANNING FOR PROPOS . PARK AT SUNFISH LAKI <br /> <br />Task 1 - Confirm Understanding/Approach to the Project <br /> <br />Consultant to review the project goals with City staff and to finalize the project approach. Topics <br />to be discussed include but are not limited to: <br /> identification of key issues, <br /> · sources of background information, <br /> · potential uses and connections, <br /> · support materials necessary for meetings with City staff and consultants, <br /> · project phasing and ownership issues, as well as project schedule <br /> · identify alternative funding mechanisms for park development <br /> · Public participation <br /> <br />Task 2 - Assemble Base Information - Tour Project Area <br /> <br />Consultant to assemble project base maps from available data sources. Existing boundary and <br />topographical surveys and aerial photography will be used to create a CAD/GIS base map for the <br />project area. Additionally, confer with the Anoka Countk Conservation District on the land cover <br />and natural resources and as well as soils patterns. During the project tour, a photographic <br />inventory is to be completed and project features that are not apparent on the base maps will be <br />added. <br /> <br />Task 3 - Generate a Park Service Area Analysis <br /> <br />Consultant to gather and c ompil~ relevant land use and housing information to determine tt~e <br />likely number of short and long term users of the proposed park facilities. Identify 'highest and <br />best' land use within service area for planning purposes. Review appropriate public planning <br />documents and existing plats to estimate households that will be within reasonable walking or <br />biking distance from the park. Analyze the impact that other nearby park facilities will have on <br />the proposed park. <br /> <br />Task 4 - Develop Concept Master Plans <br /> <br />Consultant will assemble two to three concept master plans. The purpose of the plans is to <br />broadly explore varying approaches to the overall development of the park area. Concepts will <br />investigate different use placements, patterns of structured and unstructured open space, and a <br />variety of trail and access alternatives. Concept plans will relate possible future housing within <br />service area to park planning. <br /> <br />Assist in hosting a open house at a regulkr Park and Recreation Commission meeting to receive <br />additional ideas and comment from residents on the varying concept plans. <br /> <br /> <br />
