Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On June 23, 1998, the City Council discussed the City's participation in the construction of <br />County Road #116 and passed a motion, which acknowledged the City's responsibility for the <br />construction of a bituminous path and the excavation of wetland for mitigation. The cost of the <br />work at that time was estimated to be $71,000. A copy of the minutes of the June 23, 1998 <br />meeting is attached. Also attached is a Joint Powers Agreement prepared by Anoka County <br />which formalizes the basic issues that the City agreed to at the June 23, 1998 meeting. It should <br />be noted that the cost of the City's share as defined by the Joint Powers Agreement is estimated <br />to be $77,613. This includes eight percent of the cost of the City's portion of construction for <br />engineering. This overhead percentage was not included in the previous $71,000, which was an <br />estimate of construction cost only. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />The Committee should recommend that the City Council authorize staff to enter into the <br />proposed Joint Powers Agreement for the City's participation in the construction of County Road <br />#116 from County Road #56 to County Road #83 (Improvement Project #97-25). <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br />Director of Public Works <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />PW:02/16/99 <br /> <br /> <br />
