CASE#/Z. <br /> <br />REPORT FROM THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 0gDA) <br /> By: Community Development Assistant Scan Walther <br /> <br />Case #1: Proposed Economic Development Section of the Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />The EDA reviewed and discussed the Economic Development portion of the comprehensive <br />plan. The EDA members present recommended changes and voted unanimously to recommend <br />the Planning Commission and City Council approve the Economic Development portion of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. City Staff incorporated the EDA modifications to the Economic <br />Development section into the March 8, 1999 draft of the Comprehensive Plan that was <br />considered by the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Council action on this item will occur with future action on the Comprehensive Plan as a whole. <br /> <br />Case #2: Financing Policy <br /> <br />The EDA reviewed and discussed a draft Financing Policy. The EDA members suggested some <br />modifications, which included livable wage job creation goals for industrial/commercial projects. <br />The EDA members present recommended unanimously to recommend the City Council approve <br />the Financing Policy. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />This item will be brought before the City Council at a later date. No action is necessary at this <br />time. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request for Proposals (RFP) for Redevelopment Study <br /> <br />The EDA received a draft RFP and recommended some modifications that have been <br />incorporated into the RFP. (See City Council Case #6.) <br /> <br />Case #4: Proposed Land Offer for Anoka-Hennepin Technical College New Facility <br /> <br />Staff provided an update to the EDA regarding the Anoka-Hennepin Technical College location <br />selection process and the related land negotiations between the City and BMA Associates. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />No action is necessary. <br /> <br /> <br />
