I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />case # 13 <br /> <br /> REPORT FROM THE PUBLIC SAFETY BOARD <br /> By: Dean Kaplei', Fire Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Safety Board met for its first meeting on Thursday March 11 and <br />discussed the following cases: <br /> <br />Case #1 <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />Discuss and recommend site location of the new fire station. <br />(Refer to Finance Case #1) <br /> <br />Receive and discuss the specifications for the new engine. The <br />Public Safety Board briefly discussed the specifications. Highlights <br />are as follows: 1500 gpm single stage pump, custom cab truck, <br />Carry crew of 6 FF's, 1000 gallons of on-board water, exterior mid- <br />ship pump panel. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br />Per recommendations of PSB authorize specifications and solicit <br />bids from manufacturers. No financing issues at this point. The <br />specifications will be available at the council meeting. <br /> <br />Case #3 <br /> <br />Discuss to what extent the Public Safety Board should be involved <br />with the construction project of the new fire station. Consensus of <br />the board was to provide periodic updates of progress. The board <br />did not want to be intimately involved with the process. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br />None required <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Fire Chief <br /> <br />CC: 3/23/99 <br /> <br /> <br />
