Rao at 14359 Waco Street N.W. <br />to regrade and stabilize t_he bluff line along the Rum River on his property. Mr. Rao had <br />commenced work to stabilize and prevent further erosion of the river bank on his property, <br />unaware tha.~ a conditional use permit is required for' this kind of project in the Overlay District. <br />Upon notification by City Staff of the need for a permit, work stopped and Mr. Rao immediately <br />submitted the necessary applications fees and plan.q. <br /> <br />Mr. Rao states that in the last 10 years, he estimates that they have lost at least 8 feet of riverbank <br />due to erosion. Mr. Rao is proposing to regrade the bluffto a workable slope and stabilize it with <br />the use of rip rap and native plants and grasses. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on April 6 and there was one letter of <br />support received from an area resident. There were no objections raised to Mr. Rao's request. <br />The Planning Commission inquired as to whether or not Mr. Rao's request is subject to a review <br />by the Army Corps of Engineers. DNR has also received the application' and they solicit reviews <br />from all pertinent jurisdictions. <br /> <br /> <br />
