The subject property is located in the Rum River Scenic Overlay District Mr. Rao had <br />commenced work to stabilize and prevent further erosion of the river ba~k on his property, <br />unaware that a conditional use permit was required for this kind of project ia the Overlay District. <br />upon notification by City Sta.ff'ofthe need for a permit, work stopped and Mr. Rao submitted the <br />necessary applications, fees and plans. <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Wakher stated Mr. Roe indiczted over the last 10 years his <br />property has lost eight feet of riverbank due to erosion~ Mr. P, ao is proposing to regrade the bluff <br />to a workable slope and stabil~ze it with the use of rip rap and native plants and grasses. <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant V;alther indicated a letter wa~ received fi-om Matt and Karen <br />Casale in support of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />}Jone. <br /> <br />Motion by Commizsioner Jenson, seconded by Commissioner Nixt, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Rao for a conditional use <br />permit for landscape alterations .in the Rum River Scenic River Overlay District. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Chairperson Anderson inquired if Mr. Rao would need further approval. <br />Commullity Development Director Sherman stated DNP,. approval was required.
