I
I
I
I

I
I

Goals and committees
Within a week of the initial informational meeting,
you'll want to hold an organizational session. Now
that everyone knows what the project is about, it's
time for the campaign to take shape. Three goals
should be accomplished:

[] Form project committees
[] Design the play environment, estimate costs
[] Write down project goals and deadlines

Organize your committees in a structure that
works for the group. Key role players for a smooth
projeot presentation might include:

Design chairperson: · Arranges site analysis and selection
· Gathers input for product selection
· Develops master design plan
· Submits equipment order

Volunteer chairperson: · Heads volunteer recruitment and
coordination
· Organizes event staffing with other
committee leaders
· Coordinates ribbon cutting ceremony

Publie relations chairperson: · Keeps the media and community
aware of the campaign's progress
· Handles PR for fund-raising events
· Coordinates meeting announcements and
phone calls
· Handles "thank-yous"

Sales chairperson: · Plans fund-raising events
· Organizes the sales team
· Pitches the cause to local businesses
and service groups
· Manages the budget

Installation chairperson: · Receives equipment
· Gathers installation tools
· Manages installation event in eon junc-
tion with KOMPAN play consultants
· Arranges for installation day food,
child care, etc.
These roles are n'ot set in stone. Overlap between
different committees is inevitable; what's important
is that your group finds the balance that works best.
