Ramsey City Council
15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

June 3r 1998

Reference: Proposed no wake ordinance for the Rum

Ramsey City Council:

As a resident of Ramsey and a home owner on the Rum River I want to register
my opposition to establishing a no wake ordinance for the Rum.

As I have limited time in the evenings, no wake speeds would make it impossible
for me to reach favorite fishing spo!s on the river. Access to fishing was one of
the primary reasons for purchasing'our property on the Rum and why I continue
to pay the tax premium for owning river property.

I sincerely hope a few vocal residents won't be able to spoil fishing for the large
number of people I observe enjoying the sport on the Rum each summer.
Considering the broad based use of the river any proposed restrictions for its
use should be brought before the whole community through a referendum.

Sihcer~lyj '"

Dale Johnson
1'4829 Waco St. NW
Ramsey

I

i
I

I
I
I
I

I
I
!
I
