City
Attorney Goodrich stated that it cannot.

Councilmember Haas Steffen suggested that action be tabled until staff can report on the depth of
the River and whether going to the 5.2 mile marker takes care of it or if it is necessary to include
from the area from the 6.3 mile marker to the 7.2 mile marker. Staff could also have
conversation with the City of Andover.

Mayor Garnet suggested that the Boy Scout Camp also be contacted to determine if they are or
are not having any problems. He stated that he is not aware of any problems but they may have
some input. Mayor Garnet stated if action is tabled tonight, it could be acted on at the next
meeting.

Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen, to table
consideration of an ordinance regulating the operation of watercraft on the Rum River in the City
of Ramsey, Minnesota, to the next Council meeting to allow time for Staff to address the
questions raised by the Council.

Motion carried.
